Introducing: Creative Director, Ashley

Hi, I'm Ashley, the creative director and founder of The Buzzard's Nest. I’ve lived in Leighton Buzzard since 2017 when I married my husband (who also happens to be our talented graphic designer.) What struck me about moving to Leighton Buzzard was the incredible amount of community spirit. With so many independent businesses thriving on the high street and numerous regular events, it's so easy and enticing to get involved.

Crafting has always been my happy place, long before I came to Leighton Buzzard. From knitting baby clothes to DIY projects, creating has been a constant joy in my life. But you know what truly lights up my world? Watching my little one's face beam with pride when they complete a project. It's pure magic. That's why I created The Buzzard's Nest—a place where creativity can thrive in a safe and carefree environment, shared with my community.

A Space for Imagination and Joy

As a mom, I've discovered the incredible joy of exploring imaginative activities with my child. There's something special about witnessing their imagination come to life and their confidence grow. It's these moments that inspired me to create a space where anyone, regardless of age, can have fun, gain independence, and unleash their imagination through the magic of creation.

I believe in the freedom to create without boundaries or rigid instructions. We're not about perfection or following strict rules. Instead, we're all about embracing the unknown, trying new things, and finding joy through process art. We provide the tools, the materials, and the guidance, but it's your imagination and unique perspective that truly bring each project to life. No judgment, just a supportive space where you can let your creativity run wild.

Building a Community Through Creativity

Having my little one right before the first lockdown meant I missed out on the opportunity to grow a community during those early days. That's why it's so important to me now to create a warm and welcoming environment. I hope to make a space that allows for self-expression and the celebration of individuality.
