Exploring the Family Hub

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Kim, the founder of Family Hub in Aylesbury. It was bucketing rain when I pulled up at Duck Farm Court. I ran out of the car to shelter under the stairs and look around for unit 4. At the moment, it's a little hard to spot as Kim is waiting on the new signage, but let me tell you, she's doing an incredible job. Kim has been transforming a unique unit into a vibrant and welcoming community space. As I walked in, I was greeted by a bright and beautiful open area, and I soon forgot all about the rain.

Transforming the Space

The space will soon host a variety of regular clubs, classes, groups, and special events that Kim is diligently planning. I spent a good hour with Kim taking in all her plans, and the time flew by. She's a humble host, but the space speaks for itself—I can't wait for you all to see what she has in store!

Cozy Café and Essential Store

At the front of the unit, there will be a cozy café area offering hot and cold drinks, as well as light snacks. What's great is that the café can be easily folded away to create more space for activities when needed. Kim will also have a small store selling essential items like children's water bottles, perfect for busy parents on the go.

Convenient Location

While parking on-site can be limited, the Family Hub is conveniently located right next to Morrisons. This makes it easy to use their ample parent and child parking before taking a quick walk of less than a minute to reach the venue. Inside, you'll find a small kitchen equipped with a kettle, ensuring a hassle-free experience for parents when preparing bottles.

Facilities

The facility provides male and female toilets, although there is currently no designated baby-changing area. Not to worry—I’ll be bringing a couple of changing mats to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone attending.

Supporting the Community

As a fellow woman in business, it’s always inspiring to meet someone like Kim who shares a deep passion for supporting the community. Family Hub is set to open its doors to the public this August (2023), and we’re thrilled to be one of the first businesses on their events calendar.

Our Preschool Craft Groups

We are preparing for our preschool craft groups, which will be on Wednesday mornings at 10 am. Our under-5s group is a perfect opportunity for little ones to explore their creativity in a nurturing environment. Sessions are designed to ignite creativity and are priced at just £6 per child. Each week, we’ll delve into exciting new themes and offer a variety of crafts for children to enjoy. The sessions are guided rather than prescriptive, allowing children to follow their interests and engage with activities at their own pace. So, if your child isn’t particularly drawn to a specific craft, there will always be alternative options to spark their creativity. Even if it is running up and down the hall, burning off their never-ending energy.

Soft Play Sessions

In addition to our preschool craft group, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be starting our under-5s soft play sessions at the Family Hub, aiming to start in September. These easy-going soft play sessions, available in one or two-hour slots, will provide a safe and enjoyable environment with separate sessions for crawlers and walkers to explore and socialize with their peers.

Join Us at the Family Hub
