Visiting the Studio

Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Katie at Pops and Chops Artworks in Leighton Buzzard. Let us tell you, you won't want to miss this soon-to-open pot painting studio! Located on North Street, with Giggle and Graze as their neighbors, the studio is brimming with potential and excitement.

Easy Access and Parking

Even with Katherine's two little ones in tow, getting there was a breeze, thanks to ample parking options. There are a few spaces in front of the shop, and if they’re not available, there's also a car park just across the road. The two free hours of parking are more than enough time to come and decorate something lovely.

Inside the Studio

As we stepped inside the studio, we were met with an inviting and bright space with a subtle purple color scheme that sets the perfect relaxed mood for your painting project. Next to the door is an expansive display of bisques (that's ceramic thingies to you and me), just waiting to be transformed into unique pieces of art for you to take home. From mugs and plates to dinosaurs and piggy banks, Pops and Chops offer an extensive selection that caters to every little one's interests.

Spacious and Ready for Fun

You might be surprised by how spacious the studio is, with ample seating for around 12 guests, and more to come as they continue to grow. This makes it an ideal spot for the children's parties they'll be hosting soon. With plans for evening BYOB sessions in the works and the potential opportunity for some fantastic local catering collaborations from Giggle and Graze, there are opportunities for fun evenings out for the grown-ups too!

The Kiln and Final Touches

At the back of the shop, the kiln sits, patiently waiting for its installation. The rest of the studio, however, is already prepared for its grand opening this weekend. So much so that people regularly look in the door while we’re there to see if they can have a go. It really does feel like you could already just slip in and start creating.

Showcasing Local Art

Adorning the walls are stunning watercolour landscapes, each one beautifully painted by a local artist. Soon, the entire space will be adorned with hand-picked local art, showcasing the rich creativity of the community. We were particularly delighted to hear that there will be special guest spots reserved for the children on the football team that Katie coaches. This ethos of inclusion truly epitomizes the heart of Pops and Chops, as they position themselves as the central hub for the creative community in Leighton Buzzard.

Upcoming Collaborations and Workshops

Even now, we're busy planning some exciting collaborations with Pops and Chops! From decoupage and knitting workshops for the grown-ups to captivating craft sessions for the little ones, we have a plethora of creative ideas in store. But, we also want to hear from you! Your thoughts and suggestions matter to us, and we're all ears for any craft workshops you'd love to see in Leighton Buzzard.
