Introducing: Financial Director, Katherine

Hello! I'm Katherine, the Financial Director and co-owner of The Buzzard's Nest. I've proudly called Aylesbury home since 2015, when I made the move from Watford. My deep love for this community, especially the incredible support among local mums, inspired me to join forces with Ashley to grow The Buzzard's Nest.

My children mean the world to me, and their joy in learning new things is a constant source of happiness. One of my core mantras as a mum is to raise my children with the same spirit of adventure and creativity that I enjoyed before technology took over. I remember days filled with climbing trees, riding bikes, and engaging in endless arts and crafts. The only thing that ever deterred me from home activities was the mess they often created. That’s where Ashley came in!

Ashley’s fearless approach to messy crafts—whether it’s finger painting, planting seeds, or building sand creations—showed me what my children and I were missing out on. Her passion for crafting and creative activities inspired me to dive into this world alongside her. We’ve been friends since school, and having children at similar times only strengthened our bond. So, when Ashley introduced me to her business idea, I was thrilled to support her and contribute to this amazing venture.

I eagerly attended her stalls and happily volunteered my children as testers for new activity ideas. It wasn’t long before I realized I wanted to be more involved. What better way to do that than by working with my best friend in a setting that nurtures creativity and joy for children? That’s why I decided to join Ashley and focus on adding soft play to our offerings. This addition gives children a chance to burn off energy while waiting for their latest creation to dry—or while I enjoy a hot coffee!

While Ashley brings creativity to the forefront, I handle the financial and operational side of things. I’m passionate about making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. However, I’m always up for a run-around with the little ones and love getting involved in our soft play and ball pit activities. Even if my days are dedicated to managing the finances, my heart is always in the fun and excitement of creative play!
