Hello, parents and party planners! If you're looking to throw an unforgettable party for your little one, we've got some exciting ideas for you. We recently planned a Gabby's Dollhouse-themed party and had so much fun doing it! Here’s how you can recreate the magic at home with some fun and creative crafts.

Supplies:

  • Paper bags
  • Headbands
  • Sticky back foam
  • Faux fur pompoms
  • Googly eyes
  • Gift boxes
  • Glue
  • Cardboard
  • Colourful paper
  • Paint
  • Pens
  • Glitter, gems, small pompoms, and other accessories
  • Printable colouring pages

Party Activities:

Decorate Your Party Bags: We kick off all our parties by decorating party bags. Each child gets a large paper bag and a huge selection of craft supplies to personalize it. This activity is perfect for keeping the birthday child entertained while waiting for friends to arrive and ensuring everyone has something to do until any latecomers arrive. Throughout the party, kids can add their crafts to the bags, making it easy to take everything home at the end.

Crafting Cat Ears: Next up, we create cat ears using headbands and sticky back foam. Here’s how:

  1. Fold the foam in half and cut out a triangle shape. When unfolded, you'll have a diamond (you’ll need two of these).
  2. Peel the sticky back off of the foam and wrap each diamond around the headband, sticking it to itself to form the cat ears.
  3. Cut out two smaller triangles to stick inside the ears.
  4. Add glitter and gems for extra Gabby’s Dollhouse magic.

Pocket Pets: For our next craft, we make little cat-hamster hybrids (similar to Tsum Tsum toys). Using faux fur pom poms and googly eyes, each child can create their own cute little pet:

  1. Attach googly eyes to the pom pom.
  2. Cut and attach foam ears, tails, and other details.
  3. Add any extra decorations to make each cat-hamster unique, such as bows or hats.

Designing Dollhouses: The final craft is making dollhouses for our little pets. The houses are made out of gift boxes. Using cardboard, scrap paper, pens, and other craft supplies, each child can design a little home for their cat-hamster. Here’s what you do:

  1. Decorate the outside of the gift box to resemble a house.
  2. Use cardboard and colourful paper to create miniature furniture like chairs, tables, beds, and lamps.
  3. Add personal touches and accessories to make each dollhouse special.

Printable Coloring Pages: We also like to include some printable colouring pages for any of our parties. Gabby's Dollhouse sheets are easy to find on Google. These will keep any early finishers busy between crafts and are great for maintaining a smooth flow to the party, ensuring every child stays engaged.

Planning a themed party is so much fun, and we can't wait for the opportunity to roll out these crafts for a party soon.
